Is your spine getting on your nerves?

Did you know that your nervous system is the master control system of the entire body? Everything you do, and everything your body does in the background, is organized, monitored, and controlled via the nervous system and its roughly 100 billion nerve cells. In order for you to be healthy, those cells need to work together and communicate well. Misalignments of the spine and other structures interfere with proper nerve cell function, which can lead to pain, discomfort, and dis-ease.

What is Chiropractic?

At its core, Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to promoting what’s called neuroplasticity – your nervous system’s ability to adapt (and to rest, heal, and grow).

Misalignments of the spine, called subluxations, may irritate or impair nerves as they pass through the affected area. This can cause pain, changes in sensation, and changes in autonomic or organ function.

Gentle manual adjustment of the spine supports proper nerve function, allowing the body to heal from pain and dysfunction. A non-invasive, hands-on approach for addressing neuro-musculoskeletal issues throughout the body, chiropractic adjustments use a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust over restricted joints. This stimulate the nervous system to relax the surrounding muscles, reduce pain, and restore motion and nerve function.

Doctors of Chiropractic are specifically trained to detect and correct problems in the spine, often before the patient is even aware they exist. Dr. Shelley is highly trained in low-force adjusting, so you will almost never hear a “pop” or “snap” when she adjusts you.
